Summertime's Repeal: A Gallery
“O Summer, oft pitched’st here thy golden tent, and oft
beneath our oaks hast slept...”
– William Blake
No one is a greater advocate for the written word than we are. But sometimes a photograph will do just as well.
We've been exploring some of the more hidden spots of Oxford, secreted away from the hustle and bustle. In these shadowy recesses, summer passes by almost unnoticed.
We felt one such spot – cosseted away as it was – deserved the quiet of a photograph; the wordlessness of a gallery; the space for its peace to be perceived, without needing to be articulated.
Our in-house photographer, Kalum Carter, evokes the embers of a summer day; one season on the brink of another.
We hope you enjoy a moment of repose in its shade.
