Oxford Unseen: A Gallery

"And that sweet city with her dreaming spires,

She needs not June for beauty's heightening"

– Matthew Arnold, Thyrsis (1865)

The city at the beating heart of our brand might be world famous, but its most poignant revelations are reserved for those who capture it when least expected.

If you venture out in the early morning, through the knitted streets with their weaving cobblestones and the thrumming of bike bells, you detect some of its magic.

As a brand, Wykeham's takes daily inspiration from the city: from its liveliness, its glass-eyed libraries, billowing ash trees and students streaking round corners on rusty bikes. Oxford is a tableau of interest.

Through the camera lens, though, a more solemn side of the city emerges: sculptural edifices and shadows stealing through space.

Here we share some of these more furtive frames.
